Thanksgiving tournament

Over the Thanksgiving weekend one of the kid had a hockey tournament in Maryland. Last year they made it to the semi finale so we were all looking forward to this tournament to see how they do this year.
After we had the thanksgiving dinner for lunch we drove down to Maryland. It was an about four hour drive and we were all glad after we arrived at the hotel in Maryland finally. The tournament was near Baltimore and Washington DC. After we had dinner we drove to a different hotel where we stayed over the night. This hotel was closer to the rink where the first hockey game was the next day. The next morning we had to get up early because the game started at 8.30am. The team won their first tournament game 5:2 and they played really well. After the game we went back to the hotel and then we met my host mother and the autistic kid at the cheesecake factory to have lunch there. The mall was really crowded because of the Black Friday Sale.
In the afternoon we watched the second hockey game but this time they lost. In the evening I just stayed with the autistic kid in my hotel room and had dinner in the room. I ordered something from the room service. The next morning I could sleep in because he and I did not go to the hockey tournament. I stayed with him at the hotel and we took it easy. The team lost their final game too so they did not advance to the semi final. Therefore we decided to go home one day earlier and not to stay until Sunday. Because the weather was cold and windy we decided not to go to Washington. On our way back home we stopped in Baltimore to have lunch at Phillip 's Seafood. And after another long drive we finally arrived home. It was a really great trip and tournament and I enjoyed the time in Maryland.

Ice skating

Today we had another au pair meeting. This time we went ice skating at the Ice Vault. Usually I go to this ice rink to watch my host brother playing ice hockey but this time it was my turn to go on the ice. My host brother is playing ice hockey at the same rink but he did not have a home game today. We went ice skating for about two hours and we had a great time there. For many au pairs, especially the ones from South America, it was there first time ice skating. We had a lot of fun and I did not fell at all :D Not like many others.
