Vesperkirche

This Sunday we had to sing in a church service in the Leonards-Church in Stuttgart. Every year the church has their "Vesperkirche", where they serve meals for homeless people. The next seven weeks homeless people can  have a warm meal there for little money.
As usual the hymnus choir opened this Vesperkirche, where we sung a few songs.

First sign of Carmen

One week is over since my sister Carmen left. She also started a blog, but it's in German, so for all Enlish speaking people, who can't speak German it's kind of hard to understand :)
My sister went to school last weeks, but the first day she was one of the only pupil, who were at school, because most of the pupils strucks, because of Sarkozy's school reforms.  She already wrote a test in Maths at school last week.

Badminton

This Saturday I had my first badminton match this year. Our badminton team had to play against to other badminton clubs. I lost my first match, but it was really close and our team lost the first game 2 :6. But our second game we won 8:0 and I was glad to win my match, because I won against a player, who was like 40 years old :)
But now everything hurts, because I didn't do anz sport during the last 3 weeks. I have to get used to it again!!

Lake of Constance

Today we went to the Lake of Constance, and we walked over frozen parts of the lake. During the last few days it was really cold, about 10 degrees, and so parts of the lakes freezed. At the beginning it was kind of scarry, if the ice hold us or it will brake. But it was thick enough, and so we walk over the frozen lake for a litte bit. But it was really cold....

Our old kitchen

Today we started to deconstruct our kitchen, because we will get a new one soon. So we had to remove our old kitchen furniture and all the other stuff of our old kitchen. The kitchen looks really empty now, because there exist only the oven and the dishwasher.

She's gone...

Today my sister left to France, where she will live at a host family for the next three month. So we had to get up at like 4am, but her original flight was canceled because of the snow chaos in Paris. Therefore she got a new fligth  to France, but the flight was not until 10.30am, and so we had to wait like 3 hours at the airport, until we could say goodbye to my sister.  Right now she on her way to her new family for the next 12 weeks. Her host family lives in Rennes, and she will have two host sisters (8 and 11 years old). I hope, she will arrive safely and will have a wonderful time in France.

New Year's Eve

On this last day of 2008, we had an New Year's Eve party from AFS in Ludwigsburg. We were about 15 people of exchange students, hopees and returnees. First we ate together, and then we were playing a few games. At about half an hour to midnight, we went to the market place to celebrate the beginning of the new year there. In Germany it's usual, that we have a lot of fireworks and  that kind of stuff to say goodbye from the old year and to welcome the new one. At about 1am we went back to our house, where we danced a little bit, played poker or we were just talking. At like 6am I was going to sleep for about 3h, before I got up again. Then we had to clean everything, so we could leave at about 11am. All in all it was a really fun party and I'm glad I decided to go to the party, although I'm really tired now...
