Tennis tournament
This weekend we had a tennis tournament of our tennis club. Each age group had to play against each other and then on Sunday there were the finals. I didn't make it to the final, but at least I had to play for the third place. I won this match, so I was third place then and I also got a cup for it. But now everything hurts and I'm so sore. It was really hard to play tennis on red clay again, because I wasn't used to it anymore. The balls aren't so fast as on the hard court, and it's easier to slip. But it's fun to play tennis again.
Driver's lessons
This week we had our first two driver lessons. We learned about the brake distance and the different kind of drivers, who are using the car. The driver's lessons are way different than to the American one, because here you have to go to 14 hours of driver lessons, which is only theoretecally. And then you have about 25 driver's lesson, where you have to drive with a driving teacher, who give you different kind of driving exercices. Finally you have to take a driver's test, which you can fail too. It's really hard to get a driver licience here, but we will see, how I do.
Partys
I was at three parties this week, and it was a busy week too. First my best friend came home from Texas, where he spent his exchange years. It was really fun to talk about our different experience and about the American way of life. Then on Saturday there was a school party, which was kind of boring, because there wasn't much to do. Afterwards we went to a party of a friend, who turned 18 this week. Fortunalty it rained the whole evening, but at least it was fun.

Hymnus party

This Sunday there was the hymnus summer party, which means the end of this hymnus season. As usual we had a church service in the morning, where about 200 boys from all age sang. It was our first church service for over a year now. Afterwards there was a summer party with the whole hymnus family. Fortunaley the rain stopped and it didn't rain at all at the party, so we had some time to play soccer.
Firework festival
This Saturday there was a firework festival in Stuttgart, where the whole family went to watch it. It started in the evening and the firework went from 10pm to 11pm and it was really great. It was a huge firework presentation and it didn't rain as everyone expected to.

Welcome Party
This Friday my sister organized a surprise party with our friends. In the morning we went to school for the first time again, and it was really weird to see our friends again. They have changed too and some teachers aren't as nice as in Lincoln. The teachers don't care about the students here, they just want to do their job. Having only nice teachers in Lincoln, it's now a real challenge for us to get used to the German school again. I have now 2 more weeks of school, but we don't have to do anything and then we have 6 weeks vacation. After that, the last two years of school start for me, before I'm finally graduated.
In the evening there was then the surprise party with our friends, and it was weird, so see so much beer again :). It was fun to talk to them and how their school year has been.

Thank you
I just want to say thank you to my host family, which gave me the chance to share a year with them. I was treated like a real son and I couldn't have asked for a better familiy than this. I had so much fun with them and I had such an awesome experience.
My last week
My last week of my exchange year was a really hard and tough one for me. Although I had fun with my friends, as like going to the movies, playing laster tag and tennis or even went water skiing. But seeing my friends for a the last time for a long time, which we don't know how long, was a real sad part for me. The most difficult and sadest part for me, was to leave my family behind and to say goodbye to them. After one wonderful year, it all came down to this, which is the worst part of all. After they dropped me of at the afs meeting, I had to say goodbye, which wasn't easy for any of us. I couldn't describe how I felt, and I didn't want to have another meeting with the other exchange students. I know, it's kind of nice to see them again and to say goodbye to them, but why couldn't we just met at the airport? When my family left, it didn't see like a real "goodbye" to me...sitting at home now, I'm really tired and would go over again asap, but reality moves on and so it's a new beginning for me. I'm hoping to keep this homepage going, but you'll see how my patience is...
