Thanksgiving

No, we don't celebrate thanksgiving in Germany. Some of my friends have really asked me this question. Usually you should know what is celebrated on thangsgiving. I think Germany wasn't founded so late than America. Am I right?? Anyway...we went to our grandparents for thanksgiving to have diner. We had the traditional turkey with mashed potatoes and more stuff. It was really good. Because of thanksgiving I don't have school this week, so it was really relaxed this week.

Christmas is coming?

This week we put up out christmas decorations. They have about 8 boxes full with decorations. At first we put up the three santa claus in the front yard. There is one santa claus on a airplane, one is standing and the other is riding on his carriage while it's snowing. And at least we had a christmas tree with two snow men. Today we put up the plastic christmas tree and put about 200 christmas balls and other stuff for a tree. It was a lot of work, but I was fun and now it looks really great. We are also hearing christmas songs.

Walt Disney World

The park with its 4 theme park is the largest adventure park in the world. It is about 120 square kilometers and there works about 55,000 "cast members". We had a lot of fun there and enjoyed our trip to Florida. We went swimming in the pool or toe to the parks and downtown disney.

Magic Kindom Park
The main part of this theme park is the largely castle. It's really nice and at night it looks pretty, especially with the fireworks. We also saw a parade and some of the characters. There are also some rollercoaster, like the "Space Mountain" or "Splash Moutain". This park is very pretty especially at night.

Animal Kindom
Here you can find a lot of animals and we had a Safari tour, which was really interesting to see all the animals. One of my favorite roller coster was "Expedition Evererst" where a part of the roller coster is backwarks. It's really great. In the white-water rafting "Kali River Rapids" I've got really wet, but it was fun. We also saw a 3D movie and the Findin Nemo Musical.

Disney MGM Studios
In this park you can find a lot of great shows and it's really nice at night, when you can see everywherethe christmas decorations. My favorite roller coster is Rock 'n' Roller Coster which is trip, with twists, turns and loops. It blast from 0 to 60mph in 2.8seconds. It's really great. Another good atraction is "The Twillight Zone Tower", where you zoom through 13 floors of fear on a radically random elevator experience. We saw the "Extreme Stunt Show" with screaming cars, flying motorcycles and a red-hot finals. It was a great show. "Fantasmic" was a spectacular show with laser, lights, dancing fountains and special effects.

Epcot (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow)
Here you can find 11 different countrtries with their food, attraction and entertainment. We had lunch in the restaurant Oktoberfest, which belongs to Germany. There was a huge buffet with lots of german food. I had Spaetzle, Weiswurst, ...and "Schwarzwaelderkirschtorte" and Applestrudel. It was so good. Dad enjoyed his beer and Schnizel, Mum her Applestrudel and Elene her bretzel. During our lunch there was the "Deutsche Musikanten" which was a great entertainment for us to hear "Oktoberfest"songs. The park has also some attraction like Test Track, where we had been stuck the first time on our drive. We also went to the Mars in our Mission Space. At night we saw the IllumiNations (sponsored by Siemens), which was a show with laser, music and fireworks.

Kennedy-Space Center (Cape Canaveral)

The Kennedy Space Center is a hudge area, where you can find shuttle launch and can visit the complex of building. We saw, how it looks like in the Internatioal Space Station and the work on it on earth. We also saw the largest rocket ever made - the mighty Saturn V and we had a shuttle launch experiece. It was really interesting, but we didn't have time to see everything.

3rd month review

I've been here for 3month now, which was the best and most busy months ever. I had a lot of fun with my family and I'm a part of the family now. I love my family, they're so nice and give me the best chance to have an unforgetable year. I was already in San Frasisco and Sacramento and made a few bicycle trips. I enjoy every day especially the weather. It's still about 25grad and it didn't rain a lot since I've been here.
School was kind of hard at the beginning, but now I'm used to it. I think I'm pretty good at school. I had a lot of fun with my classes, especially in leadership, where I have meet most of my friends. I'm part of America now and the pupils don't noticed anymore that I'm still an exchange student. A lot of pupils don't know a lot about Germany or the rest of the world. My trimester is over for me, because I'm going to DisneyWorld tomorror. So I had a final in Physics today, which was really long. I needed about 90minutes. I will miss tomorrow and the finals next week. Tomorrow we would test our oild derrick and so my partner has to sent me a message how we're doing. Next week there are the races in robotic and I hope my partner can fixed everything, if there are problems. I think everything should work, because we finished the program and the last problems today.
Cross country is also over, which is kind of sad. I had a lot of fun there, especially with the team. Running was kind of hard at the beginning, but I had a lot of fun. In the whole session I ran about 320km, which is really a lot for me. Next trimester I will try wrestling and I will see if I like it. I'm a little bit scared, but one of my friends are doing it too. I will see.
Tomorrow I'm leaving for Florida for a week to go to the DisneyWorld. I'm really looking forward to it and it will be so fun.

Subsection

Today I had my last race -the subsection. The race was in Frogtown and we needed 3h to get there. Frogtown has its name, because of the frog challenge every year. At the subsection there was about 50 schools and there were so many people. It was like Stanford. The course was really hard, the second mile was only up- and downhill and there were about 4 big hills and every one was steper than the other. It was so hard, but I did pretty good. I needed 25.37min and was 64th place out of 81. I almost beat some of my team, but there were 10sec better. Usually they are around 1 -2 min better than me. I did pretty good.
The girls were really good, we had the 2nd, 3rd and 11th place out of aroun 100. The three gilrs are running section next week and two boys made it too. After the race we had pizza and went home. Now is cross country over for me, I have only practive nex week and that's it...

Robotics

Today we finished our Robots, which was really fun to built. Now we have to program it, that the robot pick up golf balls and put them in the whole. I will see, if my robot is good enough for this challenge. When we have the challenge of all robots, I will be in Disneyland and therefor my partner has to fix the problems, if there will some.
